Algonquin Ridge – Week 7

What a great class today!  We began in Concertmaster, where we did some improvisation to “Reflections” and practiced our songs for the Recital next week.  We would love it if you could join us for the Recital on Wednesday at 10:50 am, which will be held in room 150, unless we are able to use the Library.   

Beginner Level 1A

Today, after Concertmaster, we completed Lesson 11 where we worked on our Finger Numbers for the Right Hand.  Your songs are coming along nicely, Alllison! 

This Week @ Home

• In CMJ volume 1 (if you have it) review Lessons 11 and have fun in the practice and Improvisation rooms.
• Practice ”Mary Had a Little Lamb” and ”Hot Cross Buns” for our recital.
• Please complete any incomplete work sheets.

Level 2A

Today, following Concertmaster, we spent some time in the Games and Improvisation rooms.  Great work on your songs, James!

This Week @ Home

• Practice “Hot Cross Buns/Upside Down Buns” and ”Alouette”.
• If you have CMJ2 at home, spend some time in the Practice room and then head to the Games and Improvisation rooms.
• Complete any incomplete work sheets.

Level 2B

Today in class, following Concertmaster, we completed Lesson 49 where we worked on our new Treble Clef note “G”.  I really liked your improvisation in “Reflections” Ruben.  Great work on your songs, Madelyn!

This Week @ Home

• In CMJ volume 2, review lesson 49 and then spend some time in the Games and Improvisation rooms.
• Complete any incomplete work sheets.
• Practice “Ode to Joy” and “Alouette” at home for our Recital next week!

Level 2C

Today, after Concertmaster, we completed Lesson 58 where we learned all about Ties in Music.  Well done, Taylor!  Keep working on your songs and remember to keep your fingers on the keys so you don’t loose your spot.

This Week @ Home

• Complete any incomplete work sheets.
• Practice “Alouette” and “Ode to Joy”.
• If you have CMJ2 at home, review Lesson 58 and then head to the Games and Improvisation rooms. 

Level 3A

Today in class, following Concertmaster, we completed lesson 73 where we started to play songs with both hands at the same time!  Please practice the “Angry Birds” song, as well as the sharp song that I gave you to work on.  Great work today!  We missed Mason and look forward to seeing him at our Recital next week.

• If you have CMJ3 at home, review Lesson 73 and then head to the Games and Improvisation Rooms.
• Practice “Look Sharp”. 
• Keep practicing “Angry Birds”.l
